The founder of NCEDI
Mr. Matata Victor is an accomplished educationist, development practitioner, and community leader with extensive experience in teaching, project management, disability inclusion, and community empowerment. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Arts with Education from Uganda Christian University and has dedicated his career to improving the lives of vulnerable and marginalized communities across Uganda.
Victor began his professional journey as a secondary school teacher, serving in several institutions including Bp. Angelo Tarentino Secondary School, Oriajin Secondary School, and Destiny Comprehensive Secondary School. Through his commitment to academic excellence and student mentorship, he rose through the ranks and later served as Head Teacher at Bishop Asili Secondary School, where he provided strategic leadership and strengthened school administration and performance.
Driven by a passion for social impact and inclusive development, Victor transitioned into the humanitarian and development sector. He worked as a Project Coordinator with the Uganda National Association of the Blind (UNAB), supporting programs aimed at enhancing the rights, inclusion, and livelihoods of persons with visual impairments. He later joined the Uganda National Action on Physical Disability (UNAPD) as a Project Officer under the Inclusive Livelihood Project in Rhino Camp Refugee Settlement, where he contributed to economic empowerment, disability inclusion, and resilience-building initiatives among refugees and host communities.
Throughout his career, Victor has continuously strengthened his professional capacity through specialized training. He completed training as an Inclusion Facilitator with the National Union of Disabled Persons of Uganda (NUDIPU), equipping him with advanced skills in disability-inclusive programming and advocacy. He also undertook training in Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) Management at Uganda Christian University, enhancing his ability to support individuals and communities affected by trauma.
As the Founder and Executive Director of NextGen Community Empowerment and Development Initiative (NCEDI), Victor provides visionary leadership in advancing inclusive and sustainable development. Under his guidance, NCEDI focuses on empowering youth, women, persons with disabilities, refugees, and other vulnerable groups through livelihood development, education, climate resilience, social protection, and community-driven initiatives.
Victor is recognized for his strong commitment to inclusive development, transformational leadership, partnership building, and community empowerment. His vision is to create inclusive pathways to sustainable development where every individual, regardless of their background or ability, can realize their full potential and contribute meaningfully to society.
